Meals and Snacks
Meals and snacks are served in a relaxing and enjoyable environment and are not hurried. We actively engage in conversation with the children during meal times, creating a natural home-like environment. The children are encouraged to take part in trying new foods.
A wide array of healthy snacks will be provided. Milk is served (Whole milk up to age 2), and water. Coconut milk, soy milk or almond milk are available as well upon request. Parents are responsible for bringing baby’s formula and baby foods.
For children under 12 months of age, written instructions for feedings are required for amount, type, and scheduling of feedings. Babies under 12 months will be fed on demand and in accordance with the written instructions provided by parents. You are welcome to breastfeed or express milk at your convenience, and we can together develop a plan for breastmilk storage and feeding.
Snacks are prepared with extreme care given to cleanliness, abiding by Canada’s Food Guide. The menu is planned one week in advance to post for your perusal. If your child has food allergies, please notify us so food served can be adjusted. Children will be provided with two snacks per day. We will encourage all children to try to eat what is being served, unless restricted by allergies, special diets, or specific directions from parents. We can assure you, all snacks are nutritious and delicious!
You are responsible to provide your child’s lunch. We ask that it be healthy and that you label it with your child’s name. Lunches will be stored in the refrigerator unless ice packs are packed to keep the food cold. Food can be heated before being served if required.
